8 FOODS FOR A HEALTHIER YOU

When the festive season is finally over chances are you will have picked up a lot of weight and you may want to shed off those few kilos without going to the gym or exercising. These are the 8 foods to consider;

1. Green peas
Peas are high in amino acids and they contain high levels of anti-oxidants including, flavonoids, carotenoid, phenolic acids, polyphenols and prevents against anti-aging and prevents wrinkles and help in keeping weight off.

2. Salmon
Salmon is one of the loved foods all over the world. You can fry it grill it and add some sauce. Salmon is rich in Omega 3s and a superb source of protein, vitamins and minerals. Salmon is also loaded with Omega-3 fatty acids, which have been shown to help reduce inflammation, which is known to play a major role in obesity and metabolic disease. Salmon not only gives you glowing but supple skin but it also helps cardio vascular health, muscular tissue development and eye sight.

Apples are low in calories and high in fiber (95 calories and 4 grams of fiber per medium fruit), apples are satisfying and sweet. The researchers think that antioxidants and pectin (a type of fiber) may be responsible for the benefits—and say fresh apples probably would be even more effective.

Broccoli also has, a combination of protein, fiber and low energy density makes cruciferous vegetables the perfect foods to include in your meals if you need to lose weight. They are also highly nutritious, and contain cancer fighting substances.

7. Eggs
Eggs get a bad rap when it comes to weight loss. But the breakfast staple is loaded with protein that will curb your appetite. One study found that overweight women who ate egg breakfasts lost twice as much weight as women who started their days with bagels. And don’t worry about cholesterol: The study found that people who eat eggs don’t have higher bad cholesterol or lower good cholesterol than bagel eaters.

8. Green tea.
This steamy sip hydrates like water, which can help fill you up and shed pounds. Plus, the antioxidants in green tea will up your fat burn and calorie burn. One study found that five cups a day could help you lose twice as much weight, most of it around your middle.
